Warm and humid conditions will continue across most parts of the Visayas, with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms expected due to localized thunderstorms and easterlies, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) Visayas on Monday afternoon.
In its forecast valid from 5 p.m. Monday to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Pagasa said skies across the region will be partly cloudy to cloudy, with brief but possibly heavy thunderstorms likely to develop in the afternoon or evening.
Among the hottest areas in the Visayas on Tuesday are Iloilo and Negros Occidental, where temperatures may reach up to 36 degrees Celsius. Samar is also expected to hit 36°C, while Guimaras and Aklan may see highs of 35°C.
Cebu may record temperatures ranging from 27°C to 33°C, while Bohol could reach up to 33°C. In Eastern Visayas, Leyte and Southern Leyte are forecast to hit 34°C, while Eastern Samar may experience up to 33°C.
Pagasa advised the public to remain alert for sudden thunderstorms that may trigger flash floods or localized flooding, especially in low-lying and mountainous areas.
